2017-2018 Schedule*


Session 1:  Orientation & Team Work - Thursday, Sept. 7, 6:00-9:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 10, 7:00-8:00 p.m.

     Welcome and overview of the program for both parents(5-6 Thursday) and students. Develop team building knowledge      and skills by participation in various activities including a high ropes course. 

Session 2:  Career Options & Social Services - Wednesday, October 4, 2017

     Explore career options, including careers in service organizations, through a personality survey.  Investigate volunteer        opportunities and ways to become involved in service organizations. Hear about the importance of leadership from a          military hero.

Session 3:  Personal Growth - Wednesday, November 1, 2017

     Discover effective leadership styles and develop a personal plan for a healthy lifestyle.

Session 4:  Coppell After Dark - Friday, December 1, 2017 - 6:00-9:00 pm

     Experience something different with your fellow leaders after the sun goes down.

Session 5:  More Alike Than Different - Wednesday, January 17, 2018

     Discover the similarities and differences of people. Explore fine arts and how to incorporate them into your life as a            leader.

Session 6:  Business of Today and Tomorrow - Wednesday, February 14, 2018

     Explore business opportunities and see how some local business run.

Session 7:  My Impact on Others - Wednesday, March 7, 2018

     Develop an awareness of political and judicial processes of our government, including a city council simulation.

Session 8: Service Project - TBD

     Student selected service project using the skills learned through previous sessions.

Session 9:  Lead On! - Friday, April 27, 2018 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m  Actual date TBD.

     Program Graduation

 
The Mandatory Community Service Project will be held on a Saturday in the February/March timeframe.  The actual dates and times will be determined both by the project selected and the weather.  Dates for planning the community service project will be scheduled as needed. 

Other Scheduled TLC Activity:

December 2, 2017                 -     City of Coppell Holiday Parade (late afternoon and evening)
